would like to start a thread that leads us to integrate Hibernate using Hibernate-Annotations..

1) version compatibility table
2) Spring XML based configurations
3) Add the Hibernate configurations
4) Hibernate-Annotations with the DAO objects.
5) Sample DAO objects with annotations
6) Sample Implementation class.

On the last part, will create a consolidation for easier reference.
