Would be a nice feature if we could have something like quot;automaticallyMaintainView = somewhatquot; and have roo maintain things like new fields or changing field specs while allowing the developer to do things like removing fields from the jsp, fixing select list display values, changing labels, etc.

Is this even in the realm of possibility?

Yes this is very close to what we have got in mind for the refactoring planned for Roo 1.1 with regards to view artifacts handling. There are also some other ideas aggregated under browse/ROO-8 if you are interested.

Fantastic. The three most common changes I'd want to quot;freezequot; based on my experience so far with Roo are:

1) The commenting out or removal of a field I don't want displayed
2) Text box size changes
3) Field ordering on the page
