AOP with struts2 and spring dm problem

Is the combination i am trying to work with is not valid till now

when i try accessing a bean in my struts action simply it works fine but when i use a aspect in my bean defination it gives null pointer exception.
Is it because AOP creates proxy object or am i missin something
