Jpa available, possible, comment

Are there plans to have an item reader which can have a JPQL query rather than an HQL query whch is available now ?

I created an issue for it:

I'm not sure we'll be able to get to it in 1.0 though, unless we potentially changed the Hibernate versions to be JPA, but as mentioned in the issue, I'm not sure if that's possible.  Feel free to vote for or comment on the issue.
